The Challenge: The client approached us with a clear vision: create an intuitive, mobile-first stock trading platform similar to Robinhood, but with a sharper focus on speed, simplicity, and user experience. The goal was to lower the barrier for entry into investing, especially for beginners, while ensuring robust access to real-time market data and secure transactions.

Our Approach: We developed Roifish as a sleek, responsive iOS app that empowers users to:

  • Buy and sell stocks directly from their phones

  • Track real-time market prices and monitor portfolio performance

  • Create watchlists to stay updated on favorite tickers

  • Fund accounts and manage deposits with secure payment integration

We integrated the Alpaca API, a commission-free brokerage infrastructure, to stay within a tight budget but build a robust trading engine under the hood. This enabled us to offer real-time quotes, execute trades, and manage user portfolios, all while ensuring compliance and scalability. We also implemented:

  • Firebase for authentication and real-time data syncing

  • Apple in-app subscription for seamless and secure membership payments

  • Custom onboarding flows to guide new users through funding and compliance checks (KYC/AML).
